    The earliest development of steel structure for building structure should be cable bridge, which originated in China. According to historical records, the earliest cable bridge in China is Fanhe Cable Bridge in Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province. It was built in the Western Han Dynasty in 206 B.C. and has a history of about 2200 years. The bridge was repaired several times and destroyed in 1951. In addition, the Shenzhou Tieshao Bridge in Yunnan Province was built in the Sui and Tang Dynasties and destroyed during the wars in the 10th year of the Tang Dynasty (794), which was years away. A cable bridge was built in 1779 in Britain, in 1824 in Russia, and in 1851 in the United States. The earliest existing bridge in China was the Luding Bridge on the Dadu River in Sichuan, 127 m long. It was built in 1705. It has been repaired once since liberation. It is still built by foreigners before liberation. The steel bridges include: Tangshan Canal Railway Bridge was built in 1906, designed in Britain and built by Belgians, which is the first modern railway steel bridge in China; Jintang Open Steel Bridge in Tianjin was also built in 1906 and restored its opening function after renovation in 2005; Zhongshan Bridge in Lanzhou, which was built in 1907, is 233 m long and 7 m wide, and has been replaced by a pedestrian bridge after continuous service for 10 years. The two-year railway steel bridge designed and constructed by the Chinese people was a Beijing-Zhangzhou railway bridge under the leadership of Zhan Tianyou from 1902 to 1909, with a total length of 1951 m and a maximum span of 100 years. In 1937, Mao Yisheng presided over the construction of Hangzhou Qiantang River Railway Bridge with dual purpose of steel structure in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. After the liberation of the steel structure, the Party and the State attached great importance to iron and steel production. The first Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge crossing the Yangtze River was built in 1957 with a length of 1,670 M. It can be said to be a north-south and a natural cutting to change the way. It is a dream of several generations. The Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge was built in 1968 with a length of 458 Li M. This is the disruption of steel supply and complete sets of technology after the withdrawal of Soviet experts. A steel bridge built by man for the glory of his country opens.

    It has created a new era of building large bridges by self-reliance in China; the capital gymnasium was built in 1968 with a flat steel roof of 112.9 m in length and 99 m in width; the roof of Shanghai Sports Hood was built in 1975 with a circular open steel grid with a span of 110 m and eight single-legged pull-out poles for integral lifting and horizontal displacement at high altitude; and the terracotta warriors and horses pit steel structure was built in 1975. The structure is a three-hinged arch with a span of 72 M. Since then, the prelude of large-span steel structure in China has been opened, and the design and construction technology of steel structure in construction have been developed. Especially the steel structure grid of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge and Shanghai Stadium has been successfully built by relying on their own strength, which has been unanimously praised by foreign experts since the development of new steel structure and the reform and opening up, the application of steel structure in China's construction has been improved. With the rapid expansion of the scope and the rapid development of new technology application, steel structure projects such as Beijing Workers'Stadium, Guangzhou TV Tower, Beijing Meteorological Mast, Guangzhou Pearl River Bridge, Stadium and Stadium of the 11th Asian Games, Swimming Hall and Stadium Cover have made new breakthroughs in architectural form and structure.

    From then on, the prelude of China's building steel structure to the world's leading level was opened. In 1990, Beijing built the Beijing-Guangzhou Center Tower, 209M high, which was the first super high-rise steel structure in China; in 1993, Shanghai Yangpu Cable-stayed Bridge was built, 7658m long, with a span of 383995m in 1996; and in 1997, 80,000 stadiums and steel knots were built in Shanghai. The maximum overhang of the canopy is 73.5 π. These representative projects are a great leap in span and height of steel structures in China. Especially the Bird's Nest, Water Cube, T new site at (?) C, Guangzhou New TV Tower, Hangzhou Bay Bridge and other projects which have great influence in the world have created brilliance for China's construction industry.
